The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce is organized for the purpose of advancing the commercial, industrial, civic and general interest of the City of Howe, Texas.
Howe, Texas is at the intersection of U.S. Highway 75, State Highway 5, and Farm Road 902, on the Southern Pacific line ten miles south of Sherman in southern Grayson County. Howe is the highest point between the Red River and the Gulf of Mexico at 873 ft above sea level. The city was originated in 1872. The Howe Area Chamber of Commerce was first organized in 1964, with President Cleon Hamilton. It was reorganized in 1972 with Ray Hamilton as president. In 1984, it was once again reorganized with President James Ogle. In 2015, the organization was revamped for the fourth time under new leadership from President Robert Cannaday. The current elected president since January 2021 is Monte Walker.
